Smart BuddyIntroduce your new-to-school child to contactless payment in and out of school safely through the Smart Buddy Watch and Card. Spendings will be debited from your selected bank account but capped at the allowance set in the Smart Buddy app.

How to qualify

From recess meals to after-school treats, have your child make 5 eligible Smart Buddy Watch/Card transactions of any amount in the same month to qualify. It’s a fun and rewarding way to teach them responsible spending in a contactless world. Matched savings are rounded to the nearest dollar, and your child will receive the matched savings in the form of digital Smiley Stamps.

Financial and Digital Literacy OutreachWe’re committed to making a difference in the lives of children through our financial and digital literacy programmes, which equip them with financial knowledge that will last a lifetime.

Aimed at rolling out across at least 100 MOE-run primary and pre-schools to benefit around 50,000 students by 2026, expert speakers will cover concepts like how to differentiate between needs and wants, the importance of making wise spending choices, and the value of saving. These concepts will also be situated within the realm of cashless payments and anti-scam efforts to nurture a financially and digitally adept generation.Workshops will also help solidify financial principles and foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills, through activity booklets with customised content curated for each age level.For interested partners, please contact posbevents@dbs.com.

Community Partnerships & ProgrammesWe‘ve teamed up with partners such as People’s Association (PA), National Library Board and EYEYAH! in order to scale financial literacy programmes to neighbourhoods via various community clubs. With EYEYAH!, we collaborated to present an edutainment-led exhibition that teaches kids financial concepts through art. EYEYAH image

Crafted to ignite kids’ curiosity about money management, there will be 9 ATMs transformed into digital artboards with interactive games to engage and educate them on essential money concepts. Workshop sessions will also be conducted to help deepen their understanding of these essential concepts.This year, we aim to bring this exhibition to 20 primary schools.
