1. How do I know if my child is already registered?

You can check via PayNow to your child’s NRIC using your digibank app. If your child is registered, his PayNow nickname will display on the screen.

2. Can I link my child’s PayNow to a CDA account?

Yes, you can link it to a CDA account, however it is not advisable to do so as the funds in a CDA account can only be used for limited purposes.

1. Whose Internet Banking account or Card and PIN should I be using to log in?

You will need to use your own (as the parent) login credentials to authenticate yourself, and register on behalf of your child.

2. Why is my child’s bank account not available for selection for registration?

Check if you have fulfilled the following criteria:

  • Your child’s account is one where you are the eligible operator. To be an eligible operator, you must be the joint-alternate account holder.
  • Your child must be below 16 years old. (If your child is 16 years old and above, your child can apply for their own internet banking account and register themselves for PayNow)
3. I have selected an account to register for my child. Why is the wrong NRIC showing up?

You can only link an account holder to the selected account i.e your child must be the account holder of the selected bank account

4. My child is already registered with another bank. How can I register with DBS/POSB?

You will need to approach the bank where the PayNow is registered with to deregister, before using the DBS Digibot to link to a DBS/POSB account

5. My child is already registered to another account in DBS/POSB. How can I deregister and link him to another DBS/POSB account?

First, you need to be a joint-alternate account holder of your child’s account to view and deregister his existing PayNow setup. Your child must also be less than 16 years old, and has his existing PayNow-NRIC setup linked to this joint account.

You may then authenticate yourself through Digibot and click on ‘Deregister my child’s PayNow’.

Once deregistration has been done, you may follow the steps to register again to another account.

6. How do I verify that my child has been successfully registered?

You will see a success message in the Digibot once the registration is completed. Alternatively, you can check via PayNow to your child’s NRIC using your digibank app. If your child is registered, his PayNow nickname will display on the screen.

7. I tried to register for my child’s NRIC for PayNow but was unsuccessful. What does ‘This proxy is already registered.’ mean?

You will see the message ‘This proxy is already registered’ if your child is already registered for PayNow via NRIC.

No further action will be required. You can check via PayNow to your child’s NRIC using your digibank app. If your child is registered, the PayNow nickname will display on the screen.

8. What can I do if I am still facing difficulties with registering my Child?

You can visit a POSB or DBS branch to instruct the registration.

Please note that your child will need a POSB/DBS bank account before you can register them for PayNow.

You will receive an email notification on the next day of account opened, informing you on the status of your application.

3. How long will it take for the account to be open upon submission of application?

If you have applied using your Singpass, your new account will be open instantly.

If you did not apply with Singpass, your application will be processed within 3 working days upon submission.

A notification email will be sent to you when your account is opened. Please ensure that you update your email address before applying.
